A great "how to" book. Just need to make more minutes in a day to use it more.
Amazon debits your credit card. There is no place to mark on the complaint form that they made the mistake. There is no way I can get this money back. They made me pay the postage to send back the 2 extra books. NEVER again will I order from Amazon. They have set up the form so that it's impossible for a person to get their money back.
It was their mistake and they make me pay. CAUTION - Amazon sent me 2 books I didn't order. I could find any way to notify them. You have no way to fight those charges.
The first thing I want to tell you is my review is NOT complete. Kelby's web site. The cost was under $4.00. BUT you must read the first chapter for the MAC from Mr.
Based on my limited experience with Kelby's first and second book purchased, I am very please and would highly recommend this book. I love this approach. Kelby lets you down load a picture to work on from the web site and takes you by the hand step by step to complete the task. I was good for the first 5 chapters and then I changed from "PC" to the "Mac" platform. I purchased Elements 6 for the Mac. The book is billed as being for both the MAC and the PC. That was a pain, so I printed it out (about 60 pages)and had it spiral bound at my local "big box" stationary store.
I am looking forward to finishing this book and perhaps Amazon will allow me to up date this review. I had the previous "Photoshop Elements "5" by Scot Kelby. I have not finished this new book either. Now the good part, Mr.
This is an excellent book, well organized and very understandable. Much better than Photoshop Elements 6 "The Missing Manual".
There are sample photos along the way illustrating the results of each step as well as close-ups of the menus and buttons to use.I am a Mac user, and I have had no problem following the directions. I have been very pleased with the directions, which are written clearly and take you step by step through each process. A must have. As an aspiring photographer and beginning Photoshop user I needed some direction to make sense of all of Photoshop's possibilities. This book is it. The key shortcuts are given for PC, but then are included in parentheses for Mac.My favorite actions that I have learned from this book include:-getting better conversions to black and white-adding vignettes-sharpening and blurring-correcting light and shadows-switching heads in group shots (so everyone is smiling).-healing and cloningAnd this is only a fraction of what is taught in the book.
